Who’d of thunk it? A new Rammstein album, and a good one at that, much better than the Reise Reise b-side fest that was Rosenrot. And after all that internal conflict and Emigrate nonsense we heard about. But I guess this only serves to heighten the expectation on this bunch of German loonies! The album is full of the chugging, stamping euro industrial metal of the same kind that Rammstein have been bashing out since the 90’s, if you liked what came before then you will like this, no doubt. Although songs like album closer ‘Rotter Sand’ do show them exploring more acoustic, ambient territories. A few highlights for me would the massive sounding opener, ‘Rammlied’, with it’s driving riffing and chants. The stomping ‘Mehr’ and the gloriously dumb fuck ‘Pussy’. Wait wait wait, ‘Pussy’ is social commentary? Well, I guess only Rammstein would pen such crude and frankly childishly amusing lyrics for the large problem of their countrymen and women fucking everything that moves at the moment. Pure class! Everyone always says that Rammstein will never top Mutter, personally I think Reise Reise was better, and Liebe Ist Für Alle Dais defiantly up there among those two lofty classics.
