From introduction track 'Forsaker' which is a guaranteed instant live success, leading into what could be the albums strongest track. 'The Longest Year' floats over the speakers enveloping the listener in a shroud of desperately beautiful trademark Katatonia riffs. Sadly, the album isn't as strong as the lead two tracks, while it's enjoyable all the same, songs such as  'Onward Into Battle' have a tendency to trail along and become forgettable by blending into bleakness. It's a confident and no doubt successful release, with the exception of a few 'fillers', it will become an instant Katatonia classic.
