How does it feel to be playing the London Tattoo Convention, is it something that interests you as a band?

Well we haven't done anything like this before, this is the first time!

I see some of you have tattoo's already...

I'm a tattoo virgin!

Get tattooed then!

Maybe, I don't know; I doubt it! It's the money, its expensive.

Going back to the begining, tell me about Kamikaze Test Pilots, how did it all come together?

Wes and I started it, we're brothers, we formed it back in 2005. The lineup to begin with didnt work, then Jim joined as we've been friends forever, we had another guitarist prior to Jim, Jim was playing in other bands with us aswell. We played in a lot of bands in the local Reading scene. That's pretty much it, gigging our arses off for the past three years and recording our arses off too.

How many albums do you have?

We've done an EP and an album so far.

Do you get a good reception in Reading?

We're really the only good hard rock Reading band that are around, there are good Metal bands, obviously like Sylosis etc. but the stuff we play just doesn't exist, we're kind of the only ones.

Primarily, you guys are a hard rock/metal band, but coming from Zimbabwe, do you bring many influences from over there?

We do, percussion we have a lot of influence, I wrote lyrics in another language and incorporate that world music feel in to it sometimes. It's hard rock in a sense, with a bit of a tribal thing going on, like Sepultura-esque.

Do you think this turn of sound will set you apart from the rest of the bands that we tend to get from the UK scene, since there are so many generic ones around right now?

It really does, we have a different comparison and different things to write about. Zimbabweans have a lot to whinge about!

You've been together as a band for about four years now, if you could take this to new heights, where would you ideally like to take this band?

To make a living out of it, to not work but just play music for a living. It's not easy, we've jsut been playing as often as we can. It's not difficult to get gigs, it's just difficult to get paid.

If you have a new album coming out, you need to get touring!

We've got a support slot with Viking Skull in Reading coming up, which we're pretty excited about, so thats going to be good for us, so we'll see how it goes.

Have you toured Europe yet?

We need to get Visa's!

Other than Reading, what's your favorite place to play?

London! Yeah, London, Oxford, Newbury, Basingstoke, we get the fans in the weirdest of places where people don't give a s__ about! It's all good, we need to play London more.

OK, so I haven't seen you live yet, sell yourselves to me!

Energetic, catchy, songs sell themselves, loud! We're a very live band. There's hardly any talking inbetween, no talking, just a lot of sound!
